Ibiza Information and Ibiza Tourism
(Ibiza, Spain)
Ibiza has a reputation as a party island, but there is much more to Ibiza than its excellent nightclubs. The island is the closest of all the Balearic islands to mainland Spain and has a 200 km / 125 mile coastline, with many small coves and over 50 stunning beaches. There are plenty of tourism and tourist information offices situated in the towns of Ibiza and these provide up-to-date information about Ibiza tourist attractions, museums, events, Ibiza festivals, travel tips, sightseeing and general Ibiza tourism and tourist information.
Hotels on the island range from convenient Ibiza budget lodging to luxury accommodation in Ibiza, both on the seafront and inland. Finding accommodation can be difficult, especially during the peak tourist season (July to August) and therefore booking your Ibiza hotel reservation in advance is advisable and virtually compulsory in high season and Ibiza hotel discounts may be available for advance bookings.
During the 1990s tourism in Ibiza grew dramatically and the island was recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records as the 'entertainment island of the world'. Many thousands of visitors of all ages fill the resorts on Ibiza and the big-name nightclubs are legendary. Away from the clubs, other highlights of Ibiza include olive, almond and fig groves, salt lakes, pine forests and many historic buildings and attractions. More information on Ibiza tourist attractions...
Ibiza town is one of the best preserved medieval towns in the whole of Europe and is the largest and most beautiful town on the island, including a stunning cathedral and many fabulous restaurants and chic bars. Nearby there are also many old stone cottages on the island's hilly countryside and walking in this area is popular.
The beautiful island of Ibiza boasts an average of 300 days of sunshine each year. Ibiza is blessed by a hot Mediterranean sun that is complemented by cool, refreshing sea breezes and the winters are quite mild. This, combined with numerous excellent beaches, with fine golden sand, clear blue seas and exceptional nightlife means that Ibiza is understandably a popular destination for tourists. The pace of life for locals on Ibiza still remains relaxed and moves at a gentle pace, embracing the tourism trade. Ibiza offers so much for the visiting tourist, both young and old.
